have the drummer listen to the parts carefully i've mentioned
does he not hear the negative attention he is drawing to the ears of the foot tappers who listen to this and how stuff like that should not happen on record worthy releases?
he's signing off on it?
and it appears the band does as well
i'm not trying to be a prick
i really want you to go as far as you can and to reap a return on your investment of time an money
i'm not saying get a new drummer
i'm saying...drummer ...be more accountable for what you sign off on before you put your good name on something
this art we are working in is called "recording"
you are recording history...don't waste your efforts on less than your best

Jimi I agree with you, mostly, and I don't think your trying to be a prick, I can sense you're very passionate about your proffession. Just a few things.
Since this is a side project to the rest of our lives (we all have careers outside of this and have families). I sometimes have to comprimise on perfection, I don't want this to be a 2 year project. It took me 2 months to get 1/2 of the other guitar players tracks done!
I guess what I don't totally agree that it is totally unacceptable to record less than perfect performances, but you may know better than me. It may not become commercially successfull, but that's not what I'm doing it for. Since I have very limited time as well, I don't want to drag this on for another 6 months when I could be better off spending time writing better songs.
I guess what I'm saying is that I respect and understand what is said, perfection is bliss, but I have to come to a happy medium. I also respect that this is a career for some of you guys and have to take it very seriously. If it was a career choice for me, well there wouldn't mistakes, that's not my way. Also I guess I submit music more for the sounds and the mixes as I've only doing it for about 7 months. As far as recording music as an investment of time and money, I don't ever want to do this for a living , my music is one thing I can call my own so I don't want to sell it.
Sorry for the long winded response, I really value all of your inputs that's why I submit these songs!

Ok that's good. I'm actually even pleased if a professional says we don't suck! Anyways, I remixed, tightened up the kick and bass and got rid of some of the trebleyness. I've been thinking about what you where saying and I might reconsider doing the drums, but not until I finish some more of the songs ( I still have 6 more to do). If you guys have time take a listen to the mix only on this one, I think the mix is close do you?
